Advertise on Queer Town

Last updated 1 October 2026

The short version. You buy a place in the app, for an area, for a number of weeks. A person here reads your advert before it appears. We never take a payment inside the app, and we never tell you anything about the people who saw it — because we do not collect it.

Who you would be reaching

Queer Town is a community app for LGBTQ+ people and allies — not a feed to scroll, a town to spend time in. People are here for rooms, boards, meetups, their friends and their day, and they come back because they trust the place.

We are new, and we will tell you exactly how new. Before you pay anything, we show you how many people your advert can actually reach in the area you picked. If that number is small, you will see that it is small. We would rather have an advertiser who came back than one who felt misled once.

The number is rounded down, and below 50 it says only "fewer than 50" — a count of people using an LGBTQ+ app in a small place is sensitive in itself. For countries where being queer is a crime we give no number at all.

What it costs

Per week, in rupees. Advertisers outside India can be invoiced in their own currency — ask us.

One cityOne stateOne countryEverywhere
Standard ₹500 ₹2,000 ₹4,000 ₹5,000
Featured
seen twice as often
₹1,000 ₹4,000 ₹8,000 ₹10,000
Top
seen four times as often
₹2,000 ₹8,000 ₹16,000 ₹20,000

Every advert appears. Featured and Top come up more often than Standard; nobody is ever removed to make room for somebody who paid more. All the places in the app are included in the price, and you are never charged for taps.

Where it appears

Home and My Day, the Rooms list, Boards, Marketplace, and What's on — as many of those as you choose, at no extra cost.

Never inside a room or a conversation, never in anyone's inbox, never in Dating, and never anywhere in the Support Hub or the crisis pages. A conversation is not a place to sell something, and neither is the page somebody opens on their worst day. That is not negotiable at any price.

The part most advertisers ask about twice

We cannot tell you anything about who saw your advert, because we do not collect it.

Your advert is served by us, not through an advertising network, and there is no tracking of any kind. What exists is two numbers on your advert: how many times it was shown, and how many times it was tapped. There is no record of who — not one you could buy, not one we could be asked for, not one that could leak.

So you cannot target by age, interests, identity, or anything a person has written. Place is the only targeting there is, taken from the city someone typed into their own profile — not from their phone's location, which we never ask for.

We know that is less than other platforms offer. It is the reason this platform can carry advertising at all: for a lot of the people here, a record of "uses an LGBTQ+ app" attached to their device is genuinely dangerous, and in some countries it is more than that. The Privacy Policy sets out exactly what is and is not held.

What we turn down

A person reads every advert before it can appear, and we say why if we ask for a change. We decline anything that would be wrong for a community of LGBTQ+ people — including conversion therapy in any wording, anything preying on people who are transitioning, and claims that are not true.

An advert here is not an endorsement, and we say so to members. We check that an advert is acceptable; we do not vouch for a business.

How it works, start to finish

  1. Go to advertise.queertown.in and put in your email. We send you a link — there is no password to remember.
  2. Build your advert: a picture or a short video, a headline, a link. You will see exactly how it looks at a phone's width as you go.
  3. Choose the area, how many weeks, and how often it comes up. The price updates as you choose.
  4. Send it to us. A person reads it and either accepts it or tells you what needs changing.
  5. Once it is accepted we send you where to pay — UPI or bank transfer inside India, PayPal from outside. Queer Town takes no payment on the site and holds no card details.
  6. Your advert starts once the payment has arrived, and you can see how many times it has been shown and tapped whenever you like.

Talk to a person first

You do not have to sign up to ask something. Write to hello@queertown.in and a person reads it — usually back within a day or two.
